Visit us on the majestic Mendocino Coast to experience this wild edge of the world where our winter rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean. In an exclusive partnership with Chrome Coast Steelhead, we are presenting premium multi-day walk-and-wade and float packages designed for anglers of all skill levels to encounter the fish of legend.
From late October to mid-May, wild steelhead push in from the Pacific and run up the short coastal rivers and creeks of Mendocino County. Led personally by veteran guide Shay "Rooster" Peterson, you will fish an pristine network of eleven coastal streams, much of it quiet water seeing virtually zero fishing pressure. Whether you are chasing your first steelhead or your fiftieth, our premier experiences offer the opportunity to hook into a piece of wild history.

Coastal Peak Window (Dec - Mar): December brings fewer, giant wild fish from 10 to 20 pounds. March brings absolute peak fish numbers.
Inland Spring Window (Apr 1 - May 15): Late-season drift and wading transitions inland to the Eel River for milder weather and longer days.

DEPOSIT POLICY
Booking Deposit: A 50% deposit is required upon booking to officially hold your dates and secure your local guides.
Refund Window: Deposits are fully refundable up until 6 months prior to the trip departure date.
Non-Refundable Policy: Once the trip is 6 months out, all deposits become strictly non-refundable.
Travel Insurance: Because of our commitments to the lodge and guides, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment.
BALANCING COMFORT AND WILDERNESS AT WATERFALL CAMP
If you travel with a camper van, trailer, or rooftop tent rig, you can book an overnight stay at Waterfall Camp, a private, award-winning 5-acre property bordering Russian Gulch State Park.
The Add-On: Available for $90/night as a pre-trip staging base.
The Campsite Features: Premium redwood cooking decks, individual sinks with potable running water, remote solar lighting, picnic tables, smokeless fire pits with blankets, and a luxury redwood bathhouse with hot showers and flushing toilets.
Backcountry Trails: Direct, immediate access into the state park trails which consist of 15 miles of loop trails passing by creeks and waterfalls, plus immediate entry to over 240 miles of mountain bike trails within Jackson Demonstration Forest.
Note: For guests preferring a traditional bed, classic coastal hotels and historic inns are available a short 10-minute drive away in Fort Bragg and the village of Mendocino.

A top-selling coastal escape. This 2-day package unlocks unprecedented access across 11 of the 14 coastal rivers and creeks that enter the Pacific in Mendocino County. You will spend your days drifting or wading with Shay Peterson, adapting your strategies based on water clarity, tides, and changing cubic feet per second.
Every package features an exclusive side-by-side ATV backcountry excursion deep into the "Lost Coast" in partnership with the Redwood Forest Foundation. Ride deep into the redwoods, fish remote sectors through the morning, and forage for native edible mushrooms under a giant canopy after lunch.

Adding a third full day on the water gives you maximum tactical flexibility to see completely different river systems, adjust to real-time flow variations, and significantly increase your fish count. This package shares the exact same gear inclusions, premium riverside dining, and Lost Coast ATV adventure as the 2-day option, but maximizes your opportunity to step into the perfect pool on the perfect morning.

Staging Metrics: Meet at 6:00 to 7:00 AM, with the exact time set the night before based on weather patterns. Fish until 4:00 or 5:00 PM.
Waders & Wading Boots: Anglers must bring their own personal chest waders and wading boots.
California Fishing Licensing: A valid California sport fishing license and a mandatory Steelhead Report Card must be purchased independently prior to the trip.
The 200 Cfs Low-Flow Disruption Rule: Mendocino steelhead fisheries are heavily governed by nature. If river levels drop below 200 Cfs, local state-mandated low-flow closures kick in to protect migrating fish. Shay monitors these flows closely and will contact you 4 to 5 days in advance if a closure is expected to seamlessly reschedule your dates on the calendar.
