XERIUINI RIVER EXPEDITION

7 Nights • 2 Anglers • January 2028

Join us for a bucket-list expedition into the untamed heart of the remote Brazilian Amazon. Operating from a premium, mobile jungle live-aboard vessel in exclusive partnership with Peach Fishing and Adventures.

We are heading deep into highly restricted river corridors on the pristine Xeriuini River system to hunt for the ultimate freshwater prize: the explosive, acrobatic Peacock Bass Açu (Temensis) reaching trophy lengths up to 80 cm.

This exclusive itinerary is fully hosted by Fish Well. Do Good. Founder Bucky Buchstaber and limited to a private group of 8 to 10 guests maximum. Together with the elite local guiding team at Peach Fishing and Adventures, you will experience fly fishing at its rawest boundary, high-stamina battles with heavy setups in a world-class multi-species fishery.

Prices starting from $5,200 USD per person

MANDATORY GEAR & FISHING RULES

The Fly Fishing Tackle Blueprint

A monster Peacock Bass Açu hunts with sheer violence; they do not sip or politely inspect flies. They crush streamers near the boat and attempt to tear the rod from your hands, frequently bending heavy wire hooks or breaking 50 lb leaders. Come prepared with the following mandatory gear:

  • Rods: 8 to 10-weight fast-action fly rods (9-weight setups are highly preferred).

  • Fly Lines: Tropical intermediate lines will do 90% of the work. Bring a tropical floating line for surface popper fishing and select sink-tip lines for deep-timber situations.

  • Leaders: Minimum 50 lb. straight fluorocarbon.

Strict Catch & Release Handling Policy

Preserving these legendary gamefish populations is our highest legal responsibility and ethical duty. By local law, all fishing for Peacock Bass Temensis is strictly 100% Catch and Release using single, barbless hooks.

  • Keep fish wet as much as possible during unhooking.

  • Never drag or drop a fish onto hot, dry boat surfaces.

  • Ensure cameras are fully ready before lifting a fish from the water.

  • Release fish patiently and gently close to the riverbank vegetation.
