WATER ONE
ROGUE RIVER
WILD WINTER & FALL STEELHEAD
Target Species: Migratory Wild Steelhead (Summer & Winter runs).
Staging Base: Medford / Grants Pass, Oregon.
Seasonal Windows (Dates Available Upon Request):
Spring/Winter Run: March 1 – April 15, 2027
Fall/Summer Run: September 7 – December 10, 2027
The Angling Experience:
Float one of the original eight fays designated under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968. Flowing from the Cascades to the Pacific, the Rogue River holds the most abundant summer steelhead population in the Pacific Northwest alongside a premier winter run. This canyon fishery is steeped in rich angling history made famous by legendary adventure writer Zane Grey.Floating by drift boat unlocks exclusive access to the best steelhead holding water. As Southern Oregon's Spey Casting Specialists, Jefferson Fly Fishing welcomes all skill levels. We will deploy nostalgic dry-line swung fly tactics for summer and fall fish, adapt with deep sink-tips depending on run conditions, or utilize technical nymphing configurations to maximize your daily hook-ups.
WATER TWO
KLAMATH LAKE
TROPHY RED BAND EXPEDITION
Target Species: Giant Great Basin Redband Trout (Trout of a lifetime scaling over 20 to 30+ inches and up to 10 lbs, plus resident Brown Trout).
Staging Base: Upper Klamath Lake & Agency Lake (Rocky Point Base)
Seasonal Window (Dates Available Upon Request):
Prime Hatch Window: June 15 – July 15, 2027 (Strict 30-day biological window)
The Angling Experience:
Upper Klamath Lake is an incredibly rich food ecosystem that produces some of the fastest trout growth rates in the nation. In the warm summer months, these massive native redbands leave the main lake to seek refuge in cold, spring-fed systems like the Williamson and Wood Rivers. This is the ultimate domestic trophy trout destination. Operating out of specialized watercraft near Rocky Point, our preferred technical methods focus on slow swinging and stripping large streamers directly along structural reed lines and drop-offs. When conditions align, we will pivot to selective match-the-hatch dry fly tactics and precise nymphing configurations to lock into a true fish of legend.
WATER TWO
THE WILLIAMSON RIVER
Trophy Great Basin Redband Trout
Target Species: Trophy Great Basin Redband Trout (Massive river-run trout commonly surpassing 20 to 30 inches and 10 pounds).
Staging Base: Chiloquin, Oregon.
Seasonal Window (Dates Available Upon Request):
Mid-Summer Prime Time: July 1 – August 31, 2027
The Angling Experience:
The Williamson River is a uniquely rich, volcanic spring creek system that acts as a vital cold-water thermal highway for the Klamath Basin's giant redbands. As the summer heat peaks, these massive trout push out of the lake and gather in the river's cooler currents, creating one of the finest trophy trout opportunities in North America. This is technical, highly rewarding spring creek fly fishing. Jordan Harris will guide you through stealthy boat positioning and bank-side targeting, primarily focusing on slow swinging and stripping streamers. Pockets of selective dry fly hatches and highly precise nymphing tactics are deployed daily to fool these hyper-educated, lifetime-record trout as they stage in the river bends.
