The Experience

Our Belize expedition is for those who crave adventure, legendary fishing, and meaningful impact. Based at the historic Belize River Lodge, guests explore some of the most productive flats in the Caribbean—home to tarpon, permit, bonefish, and snook.

Guided by Jon Moore, “The Tarpon King,” anglers will pursue the Silver King in waters where 100+ pound fish are common. The lodge’s unmatched access to rivers, creeks, lagoons, and coastal flats makes it one of the best destinations on earth to chase the grand slam: tarpon, permit, and bonefish—all in a single day.

About Belize River Lodge

Founded in 1961, Belize River Lodge is the country’s first fishing lodge and has a rich history of world-class angling. Just minutes from the international airport, the lodge sits along the Belize River, with quick access to the Caribbean and miles of untouched water.

The lodge offers:

  • Proximity to the flats – some of the best tarpon and permit fishing is within a 20–40 minute boat ride.

  • Expert guides – including Jon Moore, renowned across Belize as The Tarpon King.

  • Traditional hospitality – a blend of Belizean and Creole culture, hearty meals, and comfortable accommodations designed for anglers.

Species & Seasons

Depending on timing, anglers may encounter:

  • Tarpon – available year-round, with migratory giants arriving April through October.

  • Permit – found on the flats year-round, often tailing in shallow water.

  • Bonefish – consistent action year-round in schools along sandy flats.

  • Snook & other species – adding variety in rivers and lagoons.

The lodge’s proximity to so many habitats means anglers can target multiple species in a single trip—a dream for saltwater fly fishers.

Why This Raffle Matters

Every ticket fuels Fly Fishing Collaborative’s mission to build sustainable aquaponics farms that prevent child trafficking and create jobs that empower families. When you cast to tarpon in Belize’s turquoise waters, you’re also casting hope for communities around the world.
